The best "anticipatory" album ever made. Goes wonderfully with taking a shower, getting dressed, having a glass of wine before a date or a night out. Even if Julian Casablancas's worldview isn't 100% positive all the time (okay, or even a majority of the time), that fuzzy guitar and those fuzzy vocal tones just can't help but feel fresh, exciting, and uplifting. You know Last Nite and Someday, but stick around for the cute bass riff on the title track, the guitar interplay on Hard to Explain that will make you feel like you're in a movie, and even the occasional growl from Julian (Take It or Leave It) that somehow remains lighthearted. The foundation of a new century of rock records for very good reason.
