Top 100 Music Albums of the 2000s by PeterSmith 
After dropping out of music in the 90's I found the tunes in 2000's on the radio quite refreshing without really picking up new bands and renewing my interest in albums.
Coldplay, Keane, The Feeling, Travis, Kasabian and Amy MacDonald amongst exceptions. And by mid decade I finally got into Radiohead. Yahoo. Late but got there.
I heard singles from MGMT, Snow Patrol, The Strokes, White Stripes, Frans Ferdinand, Placebo, Jay Z, 50 Cents, Eminem, Daft Punk, Gorillaz, Air, Killers, The Script, Lily Allan, Moby, Libertines, Florence & The Machine, Artic Monkeys amongst many others all peaking my interest without any follow up.
But it did mean that I missed some great stuff that I am only catching up from mid 2010's onwards including Muse, Bon Iver, Kayne West, Grandaddy, Arcade Fire, The XX, Green Day, Sigur Ros, Interpol, Fleet Foxes, Modest Mouse, The National amongst others.
Probably I now think the 00's might now have the best music after the 70's previously being my go-to era. But I am light on 60's and 2010's era's so more to explore in those decades.

I only got them in 2017 from top charts here and didn't really recognise them but immediately loved the New York swagger which had a bit of a Velvet Underground and Lou Reed vibe. Recognised the single Someday. [First added to this chart: 09/21/2018]

This was my second Muse album I picked up at the end of 2016 after loving the wonderful Black Holes and Revelations.
A generally energetic sound with truly amazing vocal ranges from Matthew Bellamy. Generally big drums with plenty of symbols, driving bass, interesting electronics breaking up the driving guitars.
"Screenager" is now one of my all time favourite tracks with it's gentle acoustic intro sound that sets you on edge. But it is Bellamy's vocal that is beautiful especially as it builds to the chorus, it is almost hymn-like.
Other tracks worth note are "Bliss", "Dark Shines", "New Born" and "Feeling Good" [First added to this chart: 01/01/2019]
