Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)

This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 85.9/100, a mean average of 85.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 85.9/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 7.7.

There is definitely an essence here to the picks. Maybe some mix of "Ethereal" and "Hip". I don't know... you can't really find words for it, but there definitely appears to be some quality here, which is really quite singular. I am happy about this. I really like INXS and Renaissance.

Interesting combination of 1970s progressive rock and 1990s alternative rock – a combination I have rarely seen. There are also some other genres to add variety, which I find important.

It is true that I do not like the 1990s Britpop selections, nor the majority of the electronic selections from the same period.

This is pretty good, the problem is I haven't listened to some albums here so that affects the rating... I'll rerate when I decide to listen to some Depeche Mode and Verve...
