It's kind of weird declaring this as my favorite album of all time. I mean, I really like it, but at any given point, any of the others on this list can be at the #1 spot.

Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).

Oh, and Death Grips. You have to give them a few listens to really enjoy them. I've had friends who absolutely hated them on the first listen but after a few more listens, they grew to really like the group.

Fantastic choices! A lot of albums I've been meaning to listen to too. I think you'd like "10 Day" by Chance The Rapper. I absolutely love it

Thanks for the welcomes! Junodog, good question. I'm not 100% sure what I mean, but music that is hard to get into. Specifically, the limited amount of both Swans and Death Grips that I have heard are weird. I can't relate to them and can't have fun listening to them. I guess I can't really give an exact answer, not really sure.
