Defining Track - Time For Heroes

Perhaps the least known album in the top 30. If you've never heard the album before I highly recommend a listen. Every song on the 'Up The Bracket' is unique in it's own way. The two guitars and how they correspond in this album are immense and you can really feel a connection between the two lead men, Doherty and Bârat.

Defining Track - Last Night I Dreamt Somebody Loved Me

'Strangeways, Here We Come' is considered by Morrissey and Marr as the band's greatest album and you can see why. The album like all other of the band's albums tackles Morrissey's depression and failed relationships, as well as issues in society like the IRA bombings (The Death Of A Disco Dancer). 'Last Night I Dreamt Somebody Loved Me' is my all time favourite Smiths song.

Defining Track - A Day In The Life

Again another album which almost everyone has listened to do. 'A Day In The Life' is my favourite song by the Beatles and I love how the song transforms half way through.

Defining Track - Smells Like Teen Spirit

'Nevermind' blew me away the first time I heard it. The first half of the album is incredible. 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' is in my opinion the greatest opening track to any album.

Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)

This chart is rated in the top 12% of all charts on BestEverAlbums.com. This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 87.8/100, a mean average of 87.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 88.3/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 8.8.
